Memory Adoption Bureau

Jean-Kenta Gauthier Gallery, Paris, 2020

'Memory Adoption Bureau' is first presented as part of Free Lunch, a group exhibition at Jean-Kenta Gauthier Gallery. It consists of a series of 1000 vernacular photographs collected by Coco each accompanied by a contractual document created by the artist. The images in this lot are all from Japan, ranging from the 30s to 60s era. Further details unknown.
The photographs are given for free to anyone who desires to collect them and is willing to sign a contract in which the collector compromises to care for the photograph.
The project deals with the importance of memory preservation and invites audiences to take part on the process of conservation.
