Enlightened Snobbism

Hotel Café Royal, London, 2016

Enlightened Snobbism was a happening produced by Capitán upon her graduation from the Royal College of Art, UK. Taking over the Tudor Suite at the esteemed Hotel Café Royal, London, for a week, it gave visitors an insight into the artist’s mind, through paintings, prints, drawings, and notebooks.

The show was appointment-only, and visitors were welcomed by Capitán’s butler and other fictional companions at intervals, to enter a world of her creation. It explored her long-term fascination with having twin siblings, presenting the Tudor Suite as their residence.
